THE FIRE BALL XI: RAGE
So far in 2023, over 507 anti-queer bills and 591 anti-trans bills have been introduced throughout the United States, a historical record. For the first time in its history, the Human Rights Campaign has issued a national emergency for LGBTQ+ Americans. Queer people continue to fight for our our right to live freely and without fear of harassment and violence. While the full spectrum of human emotion is evinced by such virulent anti-LGBTQ+ backlash, we here at The Fire Ball want to balance anxiety, fear, and frustration with RAGE. Rather than waste energy attempting to convince people of our right to exist, we have chosen to spend our time with you all to transmute our pain, instead of transmitting it. We will rage together with compassion, love, and celebration. A riot of commiseration and community. We cannot wait to see you, and always remember: Come as you are. Come as you want to be.
